Professional Sewer and Oil Tank Inspections

At Tank and Sewer Inspections, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive sewer line and oil tank inspection services. Our team of experts conduct thorough examinations of your sewer lines serviceability, oil tank sweeps, and exploratory digs to identify any anomalies if found during the oil tank sweep inspection. We treat every inspection as if we are inspecting our own home to ensure quality and thorough service.

    About Sewer Scope Inspections

A sewer scope inspection is usually performed when a home owner realizes that the sewer line is backing up. Here at TSI we use a Hawthorn Sewer inspection camera that gives clear views of the condition of your sewer line. It has become very popular during the home buying process with home inspections. The expense of repairing and replacing sewer lines can be very costly. When you buy a house we highly recommend getting a sewer inspection to determine the serviceability of your sewer line. During the sewer scope inspection the technician will be looking to see what the sewer line is made out of, how long the line is, if there are any misalignments, tree roots, blockages, bellies, scaling, grease, build up, breaks, etc. Recommendations will be given in the report. TSI offers same day reports with a video to coincide with your reports.

    About Oil Tank Sweeps

An oil tank sweep is an inspection done when someone is buying a property to determine if there are any buried underground oil tanks. These oil tanks vary in size and can be very costly to remove, especially if remediation is needed. This is highly recommended to be done because when you buy a property you assume the responsibility of any leaking or remediation of an oil tank. The technicians use a TW6 Fischer Pipe and Cable locator to look for metal anomalies that are consistent with the dimension's of an under ground oil tank. Under ground oil tanks vary in size and some can be the size of a pick up truck. During the inspection, if there is a building on the property, the technician will look for other signs of oil tanks like fuel lines, vent pipes, fill pipes, and patchwork on the buildings foundation.

    About Exploratory Digs

Exploratory digs are recommended after an anomaly is found during the oil tank sweep inspection. Before any dig can take place the utility mark outs have to called in to mark the water line, gas line, electric, comcast, etc. This process can take up to 10 business days. During the dig, which is done with hand tools to be as delicate as possible, we determine if the anomaly found is oil related or not. We look to see if oil lines are found, vent pipes, or fill pipes. Most of the time people have no idea that an oil tank is present and are very surprised when one is found. Also, just because an anomaly is found does not mean it is an oil tank. We have found many garbage pits, cars, septics, cesspools, radiators, washing machines, ETC. You never know what you will find.
